Dr. Thornley first joined Laytonsville Veterinary Practice in 2016 as a technician and returned in June 2025 as a veterinarian after earning her Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland and both her Master’s degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee.
She has special interests in surgery and dentistry, and while she enjoys caring for all small animals, she also has a soft spot for small ruminants. Having started at the practice when she was 19, Dr. Thornley loves that the staff feels like family and is grateful for the wonderful mentors who guided her along the way.
At home, she stays busy with her three dogs—Nelly, Otis, and Chico—and two cats, Niblet and Stewie, and in her free time she enjoys being with family and friends.
